Barry Eisler schreibt in seinem Blog „The Heart of the Matter“ über „Rebranding McCain„:
I’ve been meaning to offer some thoughts on where John McCain is most vulnerable to being rebranded, but I think that exercise might have been rendered academic now that McCain has chosen to commit Suicide By Palin.
Im Outfit wird dagegen schon über Sarah Palin diskutiert. Sean Chercover schreibt:
According to recent polling (yeah, I know, but…) 27% of former Clinton delegates plan to vote for the McCain this November. And that poll was taken before Palin was named to the ticket. McCain is betting that adding a woman to the ticket (regardless of her policy positions) will solidify that support and will draw even more Clinton supporters.
That simply baffles me.
Listen, I’m not saying that there aren’t plenty of good reasons to support McCain. If you’re a conservative (man or woman), he’s a very attractive candidate. But if you’re a conservative, you wouldn’t be supporting Clinton. And if you were supporting Clinton, why were you supporting Clinton? Hopefully, the fact that she has a uterus was not the primary reason for your support.
Marcus Sakey bekennt als erster „I’m a diehard feminist„, ehe er sagt:
I can’t imagine why someone who supported Clinton would vote for McCain, and I’m stunned at the suggestion that a significant portion of America is so fevered in their enthusiasm for having a woman in the White House that they will vote for a uterus instead of a policy. To me, that’s as sexist as it comes. (…)
I have posted before about my frustration with the campaign Clinton ran. But it would never have occurred to me, had she won, to vote for McCain because of his gender. So why is the opposite an okay sentiment?
Das klingt, als wären den Jungs Inhalte wichtiger als Aussehen.
