Wenn Nominierungen eine eindeutige Prognose für Gewinne wären, würde „Emilia Pérez“ mit dreizehn Nominierungen die meisten Oscars erhalten. „The Brutalist“ und „Wicked“ folgen mit zehn Nominierungen, „A complete Unknown“ und „Konklave“ mit acht Nominierungen. „Anora“ folgt mit sehs Nominierungen.
Wenn ich wetten müsste, würde ich mein Geld in den wichtigen Kategorien – bester Film, beste Regie, bestes Drehbuch, beste Kamera und beste Schauspieler in Haupt- und Nebenrollen – auf „The Brutalist“ und „A complete Unknown“ setzten. Ersterer ist der Versuch, die große US-amerikanische Geschichte anhand der Geschichte eines Mannes zu erzählen. Letzterer ist ein braves Biopic über die Anfangsjahre von Bob Dylan. Beide Filme sind typisches Oscar-Futter.
Das kann über „Emilia Pérez“ und „The Substance“ (unter anderem auch als Bester Film nominiert) nicht gesagt werden.
Nach der 97. Oscar-Preisverleihung am Sonntag, den 2. März, in Los Angeles im Dolby Theatre wissen wir mehr.
